5/30/07 New Update Below - Scuba Steve has responded to the BBB

After many weeks of our pool guy, Tad, showing up for 3 minutes max and the pool being dirty after he leaves, coupled with our pop up system moaning every 3 minutes so loud you could hear it in the neighbors' yards, I called Gilbert Pool Services LLC, located in Gilbert Arizona, to cancel service. I was informed by Jessica, one of their employees, that I had to either fax in notice to 480-497-4886 or email the owner at scuba663@aol.com informing him of my cancellation. I emailed and then I faxed after they claimed they did not receive my email.

However, the next day I got a reply from someone that Jessica said was the owner, Rick Crissman, who a good friend nicknamed Scuba Steve, so that is how we will refer to him this point forward. I've highlighted the most unprofessional parts for you and also listed my original email to him to show this response was completely uncalled for. This email is UNDOCTORED and is shown exactly the way it was sent and received:

Thank you for your written notice of cancellation. We are sorry to see you go, but it looks to me from what I have heard from your pool cleaner and the repairman you are cancelling do to lack of knowledge on swimming pools.

The moaning noises you are hearing are normal when pop ups are working correctly. Before your system was worked on, the pop ups were blowing through 10 - 20 heads at the same time. This has no back pressure so it sounds like a normal pool without pop ups. Now that your system is working properly your filteration system has back pressure due to the fact that only 2 or 3 pop ups are coming up at once. According to Tad your pool cleaner, your system is working properly and the pool is much easier to maintain. If you would like to call another pool service to fix your pop ups you can pay someone a service call to tell you they are working fine, but you are also going to sound like a red neck that don't know what he is talking about. If there truly was an issue, by state law you would need to contact us so a supervisor can look at your system to determine if the repair was not done correctly. I am the one who looks at this and I have not seen any message of this sort.

I do realize there was a time where Tad was at your pool for about 3 minutes, but did you take into consideration the fact that your concrete was being cut? Did you see the Mexicans wearing mask to avoid inhalation of the the dust? Are you that inhumane you would expect someone to withstand this health condition over a little bit of dirt in your pool? Considering all the dust in the air, the pool is just going to get dirty again in just a few hours after it is cleaned. With this in mind, if you would ever like to be voted in as a prison warden, you would definitely get my vote. Your behavior is exactly what I would expect of a prison warden. Whatever you do, don't ever have any children! I could only imagine the abuse they would have to withstand.

I am not sure what you are doing with your email address and what you are sending to the public, (I can only imagine at this point, not good). AOL has your email considered as spam. You may want to change your email address or have another one made for serious or important matters.

Hello,

I was told that I had to send an email to you about cancellation of service. The reason I am canceling service is due to unreliability of work. This latest Monday, I was home to speak to the regular pool guy about the water in the pool as well as why the gear box assembly was not fixed correctly and he never showed up. He claims that he came much earlier than normal and because my dog was out, he decided he was going to come back later in the week. However I don't recall letting my dog out that early in the morning.

Additionally, I pay your company to clean the sides and the floor of the pool, but what happens during the 3 minutes the pool guy is there, he stirs up the dirt into the pool for it to come back to the ground of the pool 30-60 minutes after he's gone

As far as the gear box assembly, I've been trying to get you guys to come back and fix this since the first time the guy claimed he fixed it. Every 2-3 minutes it makes this god awful moaning noise that I can hear from inside of my house. I am requesting a refund on work done to the gear assembly so that I can pay someone else to fix it. The invoice# is 51042

Please let me know when the refund will be initiated.

I appreciated Gilbert Pools at the beginning of service; it just seems that now people are getting complacent and I run everything very efficient and specific and cannot continue service with you and do not want the regular pool guy to return.

New Update: Scuba Steve has responded to the BBB. Here is his exact response! Contact Name and Title: Rick, Managing Member Contact Phone: 480-497-1945 Contact Email: Rick@GilbertPoolService.com Attn: BBB This complaint is very strange along with his fictitious posting on the internet which can be provided upon request. Dominic actually had a posting where he would talk to himself using fictitious characters. This customer had service done for 6 months and a couple of repairs done. When the cleaner didn't vacuum his pool one week because of the work being done in his yard he blew up on several employees here using foul language and was very rude. Then he requested a refund of every penny he had paid into our company. This is not going to happen. Personally I feel the BBB should have a sister company called The Better Customer Bureau, so businesses won't have to deal with people like this. According to my attorney Donimic will be facing legal action against him. As old as this news is, I'm guessing Dominic may have received a demand letter from our attorney and wants to use the BBB to help him out of his court case. His office is now closed so I can't find out today. GPS, LLC
